Bethany looked at Larry and knew something was wrong.
Bethany: Larry, what is going on? You have been quiet all day.
Larry: Nothing is wrong, Bethany. I am just thinking about a few things.
Bethany: I know you. Something is bothering you. Just tell me the truth.
Larry: Brooke called me earlier.
Bethany: Brooke called you again? What did she want?
Larry: She said she needed my help with something important.
Bethany: And you were going to help her without telling me?
Larry: I was going to tell you. I just did not know how you would react.
Bethany: You should have told me from the beginning.
Larry: I did not want another argument between us.
Bethany: Larry, keeping things from me is what causes the arguments.
Larry: I understand that now.
Bethany: Then tell me everything. What does Brooke really want?
Larry: She wants me to make a decision about something.
Bethany: What kind of decision?
Larry: I cannot explain everything yet.
Bethany: Why not?
Larry: Because I am still trying to understand the situation myself.
Bethany: That is not good enough, Larry. I need to know what is happening.
Larry: I promise I will tell you.
Bethany: I do not want another promise. I want the truth.
Larry's phone suddenly started ringing.
Bethany: Is that Brooke?
Larry: Yes.
Bethany: Then answer it.
Larry answered the call.
Larry: Brooke, what happened?
Brooke: Larry, I need to talk to you right now.
Larry: What is going on?
Brooke: I just found out something that you need to know.
Larry: What did you find out?
Brooke: It is about the situation we talked about earlier.
Larry: Are you serious?
Brooke: Yes. And you need to make a decision before it gets worse.
Larry: Okay. I will talk to you soon.
Larry ended the call.
Bethany: What did Brooke tell you?
Larry: Bethany, this is more serious than I thought.
Bethany: Then tell me what is happening.
Larry: I need to tell you everything.
Bethany: I am listening.
Larry: What I am about to tell you could change everything between us.
Bethany: Then stop hiding it from me and tell me the truth.
